More than 13,000 cyclists and in-line skaters took over the Don Valley Parkway and the Gardiner Expressway yesterday, raising what organizers said was a record $2-million in the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario's annual Ride for Heart.

Among those riding and skating in the 19th annual event was 53-year-old Candace Allman, who, just 15 months ago, suffered a stroke that paralyzed the entire left side of her body while she was making dinner plans on the phone."
