Govt officials get five days annual leave for volunteer work

Officials in all government offices will be given five-days leave a year to do volunteer work for the benefit of society, beginning today. Deputy Prime Minister Paiboon Wattanasiritham announced the policy yesterday, after declaring the act of ''giving and volunteering'' was now on the national agenda.
The policy was initiated by the Ministry of Social Development and Human Security to promote the spirit of giving and volunteering."
