Syria appeal raises more than �70,000 through Big Give: Fundraising platform the Big Give has raised over �70,000 so far for the Syrian crisis.

The Big Give offered to double online donations to the emergency appeals by the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC), Merlin and others. This match funding has now been "exhausted", the organisation advised, but "a generous donor" is continuing to double donations to the DEC and Merlin appeals. The organisation speculates that other charities may find similar support over the next few days.
