Indie film charity changing the world | Movies | Entertainment | Toronto Sun: "'Ever buy a chocolate bar to support the high school choir or a sports team?' asks Medjuck. 'It's the same thing, only instead of selling chocolate bars, we sell tickets to independent films -- the ones that win at Berlin, Sundance, SXSW. They're all on board.'
Tickets to Summerhood, opening Friday in Toronto, for example, will help support some of the 18 different charities currently working with Medjuck. And thanks to a Filmraiser undertaken by students, 'now Summerhood has built a school in Africa,' says Medjuck. 'It's changing the world!' Laughing, he adds, 'I love the movie, we're proud of the work we did, but I never thought I'd have to take myself seriously until now.'"
