Tax incentives spur charitable giving: "The federal government is making it more attractive for Canadians to donate to their favourite charities.
In last year's federal budget, Ottawa eliminated capital gains tax on donations of publicly traded securities to public charitable organizations. And in this year's budget, it proposed to extend this incentive for gifts made to private foundations."
