Bristol widow who received 1,000 charity begging letters speaks out following death of Olive Cooke | Bristol Post

Bristol widow who received 1,000 charity begging letters speaks out following death of Olive Cooke | Bristol Post: "A BRISTOL widow has come forward to say she has been bombarded with more than 1,000 begging letters from charities after she set up just two direct debit donations.

Jenny Phelps, 65, wants to help raise awareness of the issue following the death of 92-year-old Olive Cooke, who took her own life last week. Although her family say she was in ill health, Olive had complained to the Bristol Post last year that she was being bombarded with letters and calls from charities, and it was causing her distress."
