Ice Bucket Challenge raises $16.2 million in Canada (with video) | Montreal Gazette: "It was the Ice Bucket Challenge to benefit amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, better known as ALS, a neurodegenerative disease where the body’s cells that control movement die.
Well those amateur acts of cinema helped the ALS Societies of Canada raise a record $16.2 million, thanks to the generosity of more than 260,000 Canadians.
Here in Quebec, $2.5 million was raised by more than 75,000 people.
