Voluntary charity code announced - The Irish Times - Thu, Jun 28, 2012: Minister for the Environment Phil Hogan has been urged to use his influence to ensure the implementation of the Charities Act that was passed in 2009 but has not been enacted in full.
The appeal came from Deirdre Garvey, the chairwoman of the group that developed a new voluntary governance code to promote transparency in the charity sector. Mr Hogan unveiled the code today.
