Accountants offer charities free review of financial governance and risk management - Third Sector: Charity Commission programme will help charities assess their financial governance

Reviews by members of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales will be analysed anonymously to show a wider picture

The Charity Commission and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales have launched a free peer review programme to help charities to assess their financial governance and risk management.

Speaking on Tuesday at the ICAEW’s Charity and Voluntary Sector Group conference, Sam Younger, chief executive of the commission, said any charity would be eligible for a free review, carried out by ICAEW members with knowledge of the sector.
