The secret way to give a £750m boost to charities | Mail Online: "Charities are missing out on hundreds of millions of pounds because donors are unaware of the Gift Aid scheme, research from the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF) reveals.
The loss is particularly painful because donations to 170,000 charities have been hit by the recession. These have dropped by 11per cent to £9.9billion. Not only has the amount given fallen, but 774,000 fewer people gave to charity in 2008-09 compared with the previous year."
