Charity blitzes do well in Canada, but at risk of ‘Christmas begging’ | News | National Post: I think there are more organizations doing it now,” added Michael Nilsen, vice president of public relations for the Association of Fundraising Professionals, which helps charities develop fundraising strategy. “We’ve seen funding levels generally go down for a lot of charities in certain sectors in terms of getting grants and government money. It’s something we’re seeing a lot more organizations turn to and at the same time we’re seeing more maturation in fundraising programs.”
